Sebastian Arocha Morton

Sebastian Arocha Morton is an accomplished composer, producer, and remixer based in Los Angeles. He has developed an impressive range of styles that incorporate Electronic, Dance, Hip Hop, Ambient, Soul, and Cinematic Sounds into his compositions in a highly musical manner, making him a versatile artist capable of producing music that resonates with a diverse audience.

Sebastian’s work is characterized by his signature touch, which has resulted in collaborations with some of the top artists in the music industry. He worked with Sting on the track “Never Coming Home” for the #1 charting “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” soundtrack, and also collaborated with Enrique Iglesias and Floetry on the track “Not in Love,” which became a worldwide hit.

In 2001, Sebastian established a strong partnership with Andreas Allen, a member of the renowned UK acid jazz band Outside. This partnership yielded numerous hits, including the Counting Crows’ “Hanginaround 2004”, radio and club mixes such as Sting and Mary J. Blige’s Grammy-nominated “Whenever I Say Your Name”, Jody Watley’s Billboard #1 “Looking for a New Love”, the Dandy Warhol’s “You Were the Last High”, and Outside’s best-selling single “Blue Sky”.

Sebastian has also produced remixes for a wide range of artists, including Duran Duran, Common, Ricky Martin, Fat Joe, The Killers, Reik, Camila, Cafe Tacuba, Molotov, Kumbia Kings, and Fischerspooner, among many others. Alongside the London Symphony Orchestra, the duo also contributed eclectic drum programming and production for the iconic collaboration “Scent of Magnolia” by David Sylvian and Ryuichi Sakamoto.

From 2006 to 2010, Sebastian produced a prolific body of work with San Francisco’s legendary OM Records and songstress Samantha James. His contributions to the label include 154 released tracks and two complete albums, Rise (2007) and Subconscious (2010). Notably, the first album delivered a #1 Billboard smash titled “Rise”, while the latter produced a collaboration with world-renowned artist Kaskade who remixed the single “Waves of Change” into a massive dance hit played at festivals around the world such as Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, and the Ultra Music Festival. Sebastian’s co-written songs with Samantha have been remixed by some of the best DJs in America, including Miguel Migs, Marques Wyatt, Eric Kupper, Andy Caldwell, and Johnny Fiasco, solidifying his position as a key innovator in the industry.

Continuing his musical journey, Sebastian’s work with Donna Summer helped her return to the charts with the record-breaking #1 Billboard hit “I’m A Fire,” which he co-wrote and produced with the Diva herself. This song set a record for her as the only female artist in history to have a #1 Billboard dance hit in every decade since the ’70s. In 2008, he received his second Grammy nomination when his song “Make A Baby” featuring Vikter Duplaix was nominated in the Best Urban Alternative Song Category.

In 2010, the remixes for Latin legend Luis Miguel’s “Alguien Como Tu” landed at #1 in the Latin and electronic charts and stayed atop for 12 weeks. Shortly after, his remix for Seal’s “The Right Life” was released through Warner Brothers, alongside mixes by Tiesto, Pete Tong, Stuart Price, and Josh Harris. Additionally, Sebastian has had five #1 Billboard singles, two #1 Electronic Albums, two Grammy nominations, three Emmy-winning projects, and over 17 million in combined sales. His tracks have also been streamed over 100 million times on Spotify and Apple Music.

Sebastian is a graduate of Berklee College of Music’s Film Scoring/Composition & Production/Engineering Departments with a Bachelor of Music degree. He has had the pleasure of working with some of Hollywood’s most prominent composers, including John Debney, Marcelo Zarvos, Bennett Salvay, Pedro Bromfman, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Joseph Williams, W.G Snuffy Walden, Robert Duncan, and Andrea Morricone.

Among Sebastian’s latest works are the debuts of “The Iron Man Experience” and “World of Color” at Disney’s Anniversary celebrations. To bring these park additions to life, he produced and arranged modernized medleys and new arrangements of all Marvel and Disney themes, which were recorded live at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios in London. The orchestral themes were played by a full orchestra and choir, infused with cutting-edge electronic programming, as well as vintage and modern synth tapestries, showcasing Sebastian’s unique sonic signature, a defining characteristic of all ROCAsound productions.

In addition to these projects, Sebastian is also collaborating on other highly successful Film and Television shows, such as Alex Cross, League of Gods, Houdini, American Odyssey, Game of Silence, SpongeBob: Sponge Out of Water, Young Sheldon, and The Orville.
